President Joe Biden has signed the just days old senate approved "TikTok Ban" that also gives nearly $100 billion dollars to Ukraine and Israel. This is hilarious, considering 38% of Americans approve banning the app and a mere 36% of Americans support giving away even more of their taxes to Israel to prop up their Palestinian genocide. If our elected representatives aren't representing us, then what are they doing? Easy! They are stealing from you.

If you read my post about my post about online misinformation you'll know I'm not a huge fan of what's on TikTok despite being an active user of the app myself. However, the timing of this ban due to an allegedly serious "national security concern" has never been more suspicious. TikTok exposed many political scandals including the handling of Gaza, housing crisis, cost of living crisis, and the horrible gun violence plaguing our nations schools. Despite these critical issues, congress has rolled their eyes and shooed us away.

Hey, congress has a tough job. They have to sit in a chair for hours, get nothing done, and currently get a pompous $174,000 annual salary. Trust me, I can quickly turn this post into a 10 page manifesto.

"Oh, well I don't like to get political" to which I say: womp womp. Everything around you is political. The food you can afford to eat, the air you breathe, the water you drink: its all political. If you don't vote, you are paving the way for corporate lobbyist to buy out your representatives and allow nonsense like the TikTok ban and billions of your tax dollars to be flushed down the crap shoot.

Now for the good news. The youth are waking up to it all. Constantly being called "woke" for having basic empathy, being demonized as lazy yet working overtime results in not nearly enough to live off of. We are the solution. Vote. Make your voice heard. Even if you don't like who's running: I know there will be a candidate you hate less. The ones making these decisions are old and refuse to give up power, but they can't hold power forever. Your vote still, and always will matter. If you allow them to convince you it doesn't: they've already won.
